Portland Bio-Refinery – Project 1 - AUG 2025 UPDATE - Stage One USD $270M 85KTA Sustainable Woodchip to 2G-Ethanol / Biocrude Plant - Stage 2 planned upgrade to increase nameplate capacity to 250KTA by year 5.
SACL, working with Australian eucalypt woodchip feedstock suppliers, is providing the Australian Management team to assist our chosen EPC, to staff up and implement Stage One of a 5.75M USG Ligno-Cellulosic 2G-Ethanol and 115K BPY Biocrude refinery, to be located on a 25-hectare site, 45Klm north of the Port of Portland, VIC Australia.
New Zealand Bio-Refinery - Project 2 - AUG 2025 UPDATE - Stage One US$430M brownfield conversion of two, 85KTA Sustainable Woodchip to 2G-Ethanol and Biocrude facilities. Each plant will be designed to increase capacity over time, by processing sustainably grown Radiata Pine.
Working with established New Zealand feedstock producers, SACL is providing the management team to assist our chosen EPC, to staff up and implement the annual production of 11.5M USG Ligno-Cellulosic 2G-Ethanol and 250K BPY of Biocrude. These intermediate feedstocks will support the local production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel for the NZ domestic market and for export. Each plant will be located on a site near existing sustainable forestary plantations on the North Island of New Zealand. SACL is seeking a FEED study investment of US$8.5M to progress these projects to Financial Investment Decision (FID) by end of Q2 2026.
Moree Bio-Refinery – Project 3 - USD $254M 85KTA HEXAS™ Savannah Grasses to 2G-Ethanol / Biocrude plant. Working with experienced Australian refinery operators, SACL is providing the Australian management team to assist our chosen EPC, to staff up and implement Stage One of a 5.75M USG Ligno-Cellulosic 2G-Ethanol and 115K BPY Biocrude refinery, to be co-located on a 50-hectare site near Moree, NSW Australia. This local partnership enables shared logistics and infrastructure to produce 2G-Ethanol and HEFA intermediate feedstocks for domestic and export markets.
Mackay Bio-Refinery – Project 4 - USD $330M 250KTA HEXAS™ Savannah Grasses to 2G-Ethanol / Biocrude plant
SACL is working with Sugarcane Industry Partners, on a scalable, multi stage, bio-refinery using perennial HEXAS™ Savannah Grasses as the primary feedstock. Stage One requires the development of 500 Hectares of sustainable, HEXAS™ Savannah Grasses. SACL has appointed Australian operators to assist our chosen EPC, to staff up and implement a multi-stage expansion program to increase our feedstock production capacity from 250KTA to 500 KTA to produce 34.5M USG per annum, of biofuel intermediates within five years. SACL is seeking to co-locate a combined Biocrude and 2G-Ethanol plant, on a 25-hectare site near Mackay, QLD Australia.
PROJECTS IN ASEAN REGION
Vietnam Bio-Refinery – Project 5 - US$150M Stage One 85KTA Woodchip/Bamboo to 2G-Ethanol / Renewable Diesel plant.
SACL has established a Joint Venture, with MQ International in Vietnam, to design, build and operate a larger scale bio-refinery using locally sourced, plantation grown, Acacia hardwood woodchip and/or Bamboo as the preferred feedstocks. The SACL / MQ International JV will act as the appointed Vietnamese operator of the proposed greenfield refinery. The JV will provide the local management team to assist our chosen EPC, to build and operate a facility capable of producing 35M USG 2G-Ethanol, Renewable Diesel and or Renewable Chemicals per annum. SACL has sourced and licensed the 2G-Ethanol / RD technology to the JV and has recommended that all refinery equipment be manufactured in Vietnam, under license, as preassembled modules under a separate supply contract with MQ International.
